In his own words
Ideas of the cosmic, the unknown, and rational modernism – view our current exhibition 'Design for a Garden' through a 5-minute video tour with artist and curator Andrew Bick.
Bringing together the work of 21 artists in von Bartha’s Basel space, curator Andrew Bick has created a garden of unexpected viewpoints, making connections and demonstrating surprising relationships.
From the monument-like sculptural work Marrow by Christian Andersson, holding a geometric figure, to Anthony Hills’ work that is related to mathematical systems, to the sense of memory and reflection in Marianne Eigenheer’s and David Thorps text-based works, over the balance between measurement and beautiful playfulness in Karim Noureldin’s ceramics and Sara Haqs drawing installation, reflecting her very own spiritual voice, the show is creating a variety of dialogues to discover.
Watch the video to discover the show’s highlights, on view until July 15th, and find out what a dollar note, formed like a French garden architecture, has to do with the exhibition’s title.
