A thin line—the horizon—separates the Earth from the sky and is key to the experience of space and how we humans perceive the visible world. Thus, it is no surprise that throughout centuries, the simple line, performed expressively or precisely by hand or imagined by the viewer’s mind, has defined art history and contemporary works, from Egyptian hieroglyphs to blockchain systems. Von Bartha honors this artistic gesture with a presentation in which the past and the present meet each other at eye level. A red thread, a stream of consciousness, makes for a conceptually strong and visually entertaining booth in which color streams and stripes are shapeshifting, silhouettes create bodies, and compositions are form-building.
