Landon Metz
b. 1985 in Phoenix, USA / Lives and works in Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York
Metz’s practice revolves around the activity of painting, yet also incorporates the vocabulary of sculpture, installation as well as performance. By spreading thin washes of dye on raw canvas, the artist achieves varying degrees of coloristic saturations. Moreover, through the repetition of the same compositional arrangements, often in a sequence and beyond the margin of the canvas, Metz evokes visual dynamism and a sense of movement.
