An inspiring conversation between John Wood & Paul Harrison and architect Peter Bur Andersen on new ideas for urban planning

On the occasion of the exhibition We Built this City with John Wood & Paul Harrison in Copenhagen, we invited friend and architect Peter Bur Andersen (from Briq Group), who is planning and building the new Carlsberg area in Copenhagen, to talk about the large-scale work A film about a city. The architectural model consists of various unusual urban scenarios that shed light on the complex, yet humorous, nature of social behaviour.
This work, which began life as an idea for a film and eventually became a sculpture, invites the viewer to put themselves in different scenarios, perhaps awakening memories of similar events they have experienced. When everyone is looking over the edge of a bridge, am I looking too? Or what can a city look like after a global pandemic has influenced and shaped the entire concept of an office and home? What happens when the commute from work becomes obsolete? Watch Wood, Harrison and Andersen re-imagining our urban conditions in the video below.
